March 16, 2008: I am pleased to announce the launching of this site, following close on the heels of our "new" MySpace. Links to that can be found on the home page. I am VERY excited about R.I.P., the track from Scribble & Scratch. Links to that can be found on the home page also, or under 'Music' on the navigation bar up top. Much love to "DJ Cosmo" for lending me his sexy voice on that track. I just really dig that song. The story behind it's creation is sad but the song itself sounds great. It's about loss, of course. That's why it's called R.I.P. There was a death in the family, I found out one of my best friends has cancer and also another of my best friends is on Death Row here in VA and has been for 8 years, so I know he is going to be executed soon. With all that going on, it just seemed natural to me. There will be more tracks from Scribble posted as time goes on and other ones from No Shoes, No Shirt as well, so keep an eye out for those. Until next time,
Preshuss
March 24, 2008: There's alot going on just lately. Thank you to everyone that has expressed an interest in my music! It means a lot. I posted the track Divine Prevention from Scribble & Scratch a few days ago. No feedback on it yet. It's different than my other stuff, so I'm wondering what the response to it will be. DJ Cosmo's response was favorable but I expected that. :0) I personally think it turned out good but then again, why wouldn't I?
DJ Cosmo and I have recently launched a radio station on ubroadcast.com, channel 11047 called WDJP. We do several live broadcasts and of course, when we aren't live it still plays music. DJ Cosmo have been collaborating on a lot of projects. Not that I mind. I love "collaborating" with him. I "collaborated" his brains out the other day. :0P We usually announce through MySpace when we are going live, as there are no set times for any of the shows. DJ C and I don't exactly live scheduled lives. I believe tonight (Monday night) he is going to do "The Hardcore Half-Hour" followed by about an hour and a half set of some other stuff. He wants to put together a black metal show, too. Check out the Radio Station page on this site for more info on our other radio shows. Until next time,
Preshuss
March 30, 2008: As you can see from the website, a lot of changes have taken place. "DJ Preshuss" is now "Scream Machine" and has been signed to Undying Records. Yes, we got a record label contract. You can find Undying on MySpace through my page: www.myspace.com/djpreshuss or through theirs: www.myspace.com/undyingrecords7 . We've taken the best songs from both demo albums to make Spider Riot and you can listen to tracks from it by visiting the "Music" section of this site or through MySpace.
I don't have much time to write right now but I will post a longer update later.
Until next time,
Preshuss
April 14, 2008: WE ARE NO LONGER AFFILIATED WITH UNDYING RECORDS AND HAVE NO WISH TO BE EVER AGAIN. You probably know we were signed to Undying Records. Well, they sent an email out of the blue, offering to dissolve our contract, saying we "just seemed unhappy with them" and then when we said we were not unhappy, tried to force us to dissolve it anyway, finally saying "You have been removed from the label." They actually tried to dissolve a binding legal document through Myspace IM! They then say they sold the label (which hasn't even been in operation for more than a month) out from under all the artists that were on it and have said all of our "contracts" (which were never even sent back to us) are null and void until the "new owner" decides if they want to keep us on the label. I found out the husband sold it to the wife for $1 and admitted IN WRITING that the only reason they did it was to protect themselves from a lawsuit over dissolving my contract. They also said all the band's contracts were no good from the beginning because they were not notarized. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Everybody knows that as long as both parties sign the piece of paper, it is valid. Why they are trying to tell everyone their contracts were no good from the beginning is anyone's guess. This is extremely shady to me. It is my opinion that Mrs. Undying Records thought that either I was after Mr. Undying Records or more likely, he was after me. She certainly seemed to have an issue with me for absolutely no reason. I have never even seen a picture of her husband or her and could care less about either of them as people at all. All we had was a business relationship and I told him that from the beginning. Dude, look at my husband. I am married to DJ Cosmo. Why would I even THINK of ruining my relationship with this fine-ass motherfucker to go after some guy who I have no idea what he even looks like, not to mention never even met? Please. It would take a hell of a lot more than some guy I've never seen who has no job and just started a record label 2 weeks before that typing words on a screen to get my attention. This whole thing is so immature and stupid it's almost sad. I have noticed through my map that they check my page all the time and also that they have been telling other people on the label not to speak to me anymore. This whole experience has just been endless drama and nothing but really inept, unprofessional, immature, stupid bullshit that we don't need and even if we were invited to stay with Undying (ha!), we would not be doing so. I can't have my musical career and future at the mercy of somebody's insecure ego. I have many lines out into the entertainment industry; I am also a freelance artist, writer and model. You expect a certain level of professionalism from somebody who says they ARE an industry professional. For example: as a freelance model, I have many nude photos on modeling sites, etc. I do not expect the photographer to make inappropriate comments regarding these images or to try and date me or something because of them. I don't expect him or her to think anything of these pictures other than as one professional to another and I don't expect them to get jealous or act immaturely about it. If I write an erotic story, I do not expect the editor of a magazine or website to think anything untoward or inappropriate about the story or me for writing it, either. Many of these business cross-connect; I might send photos with a story. I would not expect the editor to make any comments regarding them, other than whether they correctly illustrate the story or not. If anyone who claims to be an industry professional treats the products as more than just products, it is extremely unprofessional and the mark of immaturity and a bad businessperson. It is also the mark of somebody I DON'T want to work with. Your personal opinion should have nothing to do with business. We are talking about a product here. They also apparently have a problem with the artist asking what is going on with their own music, or with the artist wanting the record label to do the things they've said they would do. What record label says they will master the artist's tracks and then not only doesn't do it but puts the tracks up for sale WITHOUT being mastered? That is absolutely unacceptable to us and should be unacceptable to ANY artist ANYWHERE. If you want to buy tracks in the meantime, please contact us.
Until next time,
Preshuss
April 27, 2008: We have uploaded a new song to the site and are working on Nona, our new album to be released in 2009. The new song is called The Succubus, so give it a listen, see what you think. We have offered R.I.P. and Dying Season for free download through Vuze/Azureus. Check our MySpace blog for the direct link to them. We are still killing on the charts @ SoundClick.com. R.I.P. has been retired, as it was hogging the spotlight as usual. Thank you to Remo Hoppe for pointing us toward www.cycast.de after seeing this site. We have met with success on Cycast almost immediately and are very glad we found it. We love you, Germany! (Especially because my heritage is mostly German.) We love ALL of our overseas fans! Germany, Sweden, France, The Netherlands... you guys know what's good. ;0) Ya'll keep listening and we'll keep giving it to you. And don't think we forgot about our American fans. We value every single person who takes time to listen to Scream Machine. You guys rule all.
Until next time,
Preshuss
